BRING YOUR PHOTOS TO LIFE BY ANIMATING THEM IN PHOTOSHOP

CREATE ANIMATED SNOW SCENES AND SHARE THEM ENHANCED WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS

In case you’re wondering why is this file only 500x270 in pixel, it’s because it’s meant to be exported as an animated .gif and you want to preserve the k-size as much as possible, since larger animations will be much “heavier”. That being said, let’s proceed and show how to easily use and tweak the .PSD in a matter of seconds, without any extensive photoshop knowledge.

Open the .PSD (And you’re already half-way done). The only thing you have to do is to insert your image by double clicking image holder layer named “ImageHolder”, marked in green. It will open our demo image where you have to paste your photo and resize to fit. Save and close that window and the main scene is already updated.
To preview your snow scene, open timeline (window/timeline) and press “play” button in the controls above timeline with thumbnails. If you’re happy with the result, export the .gif – go to file/save for web and choose gif as a format, diffusion dither (if you have many shades and gradients in the photo. If not, leave as no dither). Choose 128 colors (you can go up to 256, but the file size will be larger), set “looping option” to “forever” and export.

Now that you have your .gif saved on your hard drive, you should upload it to imgur.com (open a free account), so you’ll just use a shortcode to insert your animation on social media, websites, emails, etc. Also, they will load fast, since imgur is optimized for fast load. You can also share animated gifs straight from imgur itself (use social media buttons for that) and it will make a post with your description, etc.
